Brushing your teeth and washing your hands before eating are the first things our parents taught us. So we think that we can do these two things correctly. It turns out that this is far from the truth.
Don’t forget about horizontal brushing movements!
So first, let’s remember the basic rule of proper brushing: It is forbidden to move the toothbrush horizontally over the teeth! Not only will you not be able to remove plaque from the enamel, but you will also push it into the spaces between the teeth, where it will be much more difficult to remove. By the way, this is where cavities often start, because the bacteria that cause cavities live happily on the teeth and never touch the hygiene products.
How to clean the inside of your teeth?
Now let’s talk about how to brush. Let’s start from the jaw, let’s start from the inside of your teeth. Hold the toothbrush to the outside of your teeth and rotate it so that the bristles move vertically along the teeth, without moving the brush itself side
ways (see picture). In this way, you can clean the inside teeth of both the lower and upper jaws. How should you brush your front teeth?
The front teeth (upper and lower teeth) are also cleaned with vertical movements, but for convenience the toothbrush can also be placed on the surface of the teeth. The most important thing is to avoid “scratching” the teeth with a too hard brush.
How do you clean the outer surfaces of your teeth?
The outer surfaces of the teeth are cleaned just like the inner surfaces; that is, by simply turning the head of the toothbrush and gently moving it as directed by the dentist. The bristles of a normal toothbrush cover 3-4 teeth;
Clean the area to be cleaned.
After cleaning your teeth from the inside out, you can start cleaning the gums. Just follow good practices here. But don’t go too far, the success of the whole exercise does not depend on how much force you apply to the brush.
How do you brush your teeth? You can complete the brushing process by moving the toothbrush in a circular motion along the outer surface of your teeth. To do this, close your jaw tightly and move the brush along the entire line of your teeth. After some training, the whole process will take about 1.5 minutes, but at first you should spend about 3 minutes on dental treatment.
